Your initial appointment will typically consist of a thorough examination of your teeth, gum and bone, appropriate radiographs, and a review of your treatment options. At this appointment we will discuss the best type of cleaning for you and suggest a number of annual cleanings. For most patients we recommend a cleaning and exam every 6 months and we can usually clean your teeth at your first visit. However, if certain conditions of the gum and bone are found we may recommend a separate appointment for your cleaning. Our goal is to ensure you are receiving the highest quality of care. We value your time and will always try to minimize the number of dental appointments but we also want to ensure we are recommending and providing the appropriate care.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your Initial visit:
- Any x-rays taken by a previous dentist, if applicable.
- A list of medications you are presently taking.
- If you have dental insurance, please bring a copy of your current card.
IMPORTANT:All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
If you have had a joint replacement or have been instructed to take premedication before dental appointments, please alert our office prior to your first visit so we can make sure you have any presciptions you may need.
